Together at St Barnabas
We are a church family of all ages and all sorts of people united around our desire to “share the good news of Jesus” with all. St Barnabas Church is a Church of England Church and part of the worldwide Anglican Communion which is founded on the great reformation principles of “Christ alone, Scripture alone, Faith alone”.
Our Vision
To be a loving, growing, vibrant, diverse, expectant and Spirit filled community living and sharing the transforming and saving gospel of Jesus with our communities and our city.
We live out our faith by:
Celebrating the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, knowing that through His life, death, and resurrection, we are forgiven and restored to relationship with God.
Striving to be known by our love for God, our community, and one another, as we reflect the love we have received through Christ.
Prioritising prayer and grounding everything we do in the Bible, believing it reveals God’s truth and the way to eternal life.
Equipping every follower of Jesus, young and old, to use their God-given gifts and talents to share the good news of salvation and build God’s kingdom here in Gloucester.
Witnessing to God’s purposes by living boldly as “salt and light,” pursuing justice, peace, and caring for creation as we reflect His transforming power.
Each day, we rejoice in the hope of salvation and seek to become a little more like Jesus!
We are diverse community theologically and welcome all. Our vicar Sarah is a member of the Evangelical Alliance and subscribes to their statement of belief.
