Children, Young People & Families

Good news, our children & young people's ministry is growing!

Family Worship on Sundays

  • Sparks, Flame & Ignite
Our Sparks, Flame and Ignite groups meet in the halls on the third and fourth Sundays of the month. Sparks (reception to year 4), Flame (years 5 to 7) and Ignite (year 8+) kick-off their session together with games, refreshments and a captivating story before breaking into their separate groups for a wide variety of fun and engaging activities. From praise to prayer and crafts to conversation, there's something for every child to enjoy and learn from. Registration is at 10:20 and children are collected when the 10:30am worship ends.
  • What do we do?
Our children's ministry follows the same Bible theme as the adults in the 10:30am worship, so you can rest assured that your child is learning and growing in their faith alongside you.
  • Registration
Registration for Sparks, Flame & Ignite is at 10:20am in the Church Halls (over the road). Please go with your child to register and remember to collect them at the end of the service!
  • Do I need to stay with my child?
If you child is not in school then we do ask that you stay with your child in church generally.

St Barnabas is a multi-generational church where children and young people are a vital part of our community.  We have All-Age Worship on the second Sunday of the month and on the remaining weeks we have activities for school-age children in the chapel and a space for younger children at the back. We know younger children can make noise - this is okay! Please feel free to make yourself comfortable to worship as a family.

In the week

Families are welcome to come along to Blaze, which takes place in the church on the first Friday afternoon of the month from 3:30pm to 5pm. Come along for songs, stories, craft and food!

We also have close links with our local schools so keep an eye out for members of the team!
