Meet the Team
We are blessed to have a brilliant team of both ordained and lay leaders at St Barnabas, supported by an equally fantastic group of volunteers. There are more people to meet so watch this space!
Vicar of St Barnabas & Priest-in-Charge of St Katharine's Matson
Revd Sarah Todd
I was born in Churchdown and consider myself a Gloucestershire girl through and through. I am married to Ian and have four children and a small dog. Before ordination, I was a musician and then trained for ministry at the Queens Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education. I am especially interested in exploring ways that all ages can be church together, helping others explore God’s call, liturgy and digital worship, evangelism and mission. I enjoy long walks, playing the piano, researching family and local history, coffee with friends and exploring new places and ideas!
Revd Michael Bennett
Having been ordained as Deacon in 1967 and Priest in 1968, I served in County Durham, Salisbury, Hereford, Leicester and Wales. I came to Gloucester in 2009 beginning my time at St Barnabas in 2012. I married my wife Sheila in 1967 and we have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren. My hobbies are model railway, collecting stamps and I have a large collection of railway and naval books!
Revd Catherine Milsom
I have been married to Stephen since 2008 and we have a young son called George. Before ordination, I worked as an Optician where I loved getting to know and care for my patients. My ordination training was completed as a dispersed learner at Trinity College in Bristol, which meant I combined my theological studies with working in the parish context of the Greenway Benefice in Cheltenham. I am delighted to be joining the St Barnabas team for my curacy, where I will continue to learn more about parish ministry. I love liturgy and hymns and am really looking forward to spending time with people both within our church community and beyond.

I am a Director of a small Construction company with two daughters Meghann 25 and Georgia 22. I am engaged to Caroline who I met when working together as part of a team on a church trip in Romania. I enjoy adventure, Kenya being a favourite so far and love walking, especially mountains with many visits to the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains each year.
Loving wife, incredibly proud mother of two and besotted grandmother. Love my church family both near and far because God first loved me. I enjoy gardening on our allotment, would love to get back to watercolour and pastel painting and of course love reading mostly about God who can be in unexpected places.
I was a biology academic and researcher for many years before retiring to expand my education business. I am a follower of Jesus with a particular passion for prayer ministry, eco-church and working in the community. I am married to Sarah and have lived in Gloucestershire for many years, enjoying the rich countryside and wildlife of our region. I am also a fan of Sci Fi films which often explore big issues of life and faith in interesting ways.
I originally trained in music at Exeter University, worked in Arts Administration and as a part-time singer in London for a number of years. Following a faith renewal, I studied Theology at the University of Otago in New Zealand as a mature student followed by an MTh in Applied Theology at Oxford University through Ripon College Cuddesdon. I’ve been involved in lay ministry at St Barnabas since 2009 and was licensed as a Reader in 2016. I am enthusiastic about all aspects of mission, pastoral and teaching ministry at St Barnabas. My passion is for enabling people to meet with Jesus and grow in their relationship with him through studying the Bible with others has led me to small group ministry at St Barnabas. I am a funeral minister, lead worship and preach. I am married to Ian and love coffee, long walks, and allotment gardening.

I’ve been a Christian for as long as I can remember! Joining the St Barnabas family has helped my faith to grow and I have felt God calling me to work with children and families for the past few years. I love supporting our marvellous team and look forward to all that lies ahead. I am mum to 3 wonderful children, wife to a very patient husband,a bank officer, cross stitcher, crocheter – plus more I am sure!
Professionally, I work in the NHS as an Education Mental Health Practitioner. I am passionate about "togetherness" and finding creative ways of connecting people and communities. I think this is what I love about Comms! I love sunshine, chocolate and binge watching TV shows and I'm trying to become a knitter to mixed success!
